Taxpayers will be happy to know that the Internal Revenue Service will begin processing tax returns on January 28th and be issuing refunds on a regular schedule. The complexity of the new tax law had led to concerns that the agency would not be ready for the start of the busy season. It was also thought that tax refunds would be delayed due to the ongoing Government shutdown, but it was announced that they will be issued on a timely basis. In the past refunds have been delayed until the Government was funded.
